Swiss Government acting through SECO allocated a grant of 2,735,000 EUR to be split evenly between the City of Zenica and City of Tuzla for repair and rehabilitation of the water supply facilities heavily hit by the severe flooding in 2014, as well as to introduce risk reduction measures to prevent similar disasters in the future.
This is just part of the efforts invested by the City of Zenica and its water utility company to make a proper repair of the damaged water supply and sewage facilities and get the waste water treatment facility installed to meet the EU quality and safety requirements.
On July 15, 2016 an agreement on how to spend these funds was signed by the acting Mayor of Zenica, a Zenica Water Utility and Swiss-authorized German Development Bank KfW.
